Known for constructing sculptures that are a baroque complex of architectural structures and figurative allusions, Syrian-born artist Diana Al-Hadid will be the Vaulted Gallery Artist-in-Residence and her site-specific installation will be on view from January 27 through March 10, 2012.

Additional season highlights include Across the Divide, a group exhibition co-organized by Associate Professor of Studio Art Beili Liu, which features works by 25 contemporary Chinese artists; Dubforms by San Antonio-based artist Justin Boyd; and New Prints 2011, organized by the International Print Center New York and presented in partnership with the Department’s Printmaking Convergence program. Center Space Project, the student organization of the Visual Arts Center, presents (im)possibilities, curated by C.C. Marsh; and Traditional Family Values, featuring works by Arturo Agero, Sarah Holman, and Marcella Mendez. The season concludes with the annual student exhibitions, featuring works by the department’s undergraduate and MFA art and design students.
