Lunch Break is a daytime series of carefully selected films that will satisfy your hunger for fresh perspectives on the exhibitions on view. For this edition, the VAC presents John Baldessari’s, The Way We Do Art Now and Other Sacred Tales. In keeping with Baldessari’s conscious miscommunication and well-known pun making, this collection contains a series of parables concerning modes of representation, language, and cognition. With episode titles such as Insincerely promising a cat a carrot, Some words I mispronounce, and Examining three 8D common size 2 1/2 inch nails: how they are the same: how they are different, Baldessari both questions and spoofs what constitutes art.
