Center Space Project: Call for Proposals 2021–2022

Center Space Project (CSP) is an undergraduate student-run arts collective that works collaboratively with the VAC to provide students with opportunities to participate in an interdisciplinary artistic community. Through our programming, we engage with a diverse range of creative voices both within and beyond the College of Fine Arts.

With our annual call for proposals, CSP invites undergraduate and graduate students of all disciplines at The University of Texas at Austin to submit proposals for thematic solo or group exhibitions featuring their own work or the work of others. We welcome proposals from both novice and experienced curators in any and all media, including 2-D, 3-D, digital media, and performance.

Two student-curated exhibitions will be selected for the VAC's 2021-2022 exhibition season: one for Fall 2021, and one for Spring 2022. The selection committee consists of VAC staff and CSP student members. Selected curators will be assisted by both VAC staff and CSP student officers throughout the process of developing and installing their exhibition. Curators are expected to produce at least one public program in conjunction with their exhibition; programming should factor into the development of the exhibition and its narrative. While we welcome ambitious proposals, we encourage you to be as thorough as possible in your proposal in order to demonstrate that you have thought through the steps involved in realizing each aspect of your project (eg. fundraising, production of new work, equipment needs, artwork shipment, artist travel, etc.).

Submit an Exhibition Proposal

The deadline to submit proposals is Sunday, April 11 at 5:00 PM CST. No late submissions will be accepted.

Questions regarding the call for proposals can be directed to Clare Donnelly, VAC Gallery Manager, at claredonnelly@utvac.org.
