The Almost of What Was

November 28 – December 2, 2023

What is photography’s role and responsibility in constructing the past? Is there a nature of truth in photography? How do we use the tool of photography, and in what ways does this tool “use” us?

These questions launched a semester-long photographic exploration by students in the Fall 2023 Intermediate Photography studio class.

The Almost of What Was is the culmination of the visual discourse that showcases the student’s responses and reflections. We invite you to ponder these questions as you dip into The Almost of What Was.
