In this virtual conversation, artists Corentin Canesson and Pierre Leguillon discuss the intersections of their individual practices, which challenge institutional hierarchies and conventional modes of display. Both artists are invested in the circulation of reproductions and mass media, and in creating installations that establish new modalities for viewing. Leguillon’s The Museum of Mistakes—a traveling exhibition founded in Brussels in 2013—directly informed Canesson’s VAC exhibition Sleep Spaces / Les espaces du sommeil, which contains personal objects and ephemera such as records, postcards, photographs, small sculptures, children’s drawings, and an artwork by Leguillon given to Canesson through a work swap.
