Curatorial Tour: How to Grow the Cowpea

Join VAC Associate Curator Melissa Fandos for a tour of How to Grow the Cowpea: Survival Strategies from the U.S. South. Fandos will introduce the curatorial framework she developed with co-curator Erika Mei Chua Holum and trace how George Washington Carver’s interdisciplinary approach to scientific, artistic, and pedagogical practices shapes the exhibition. Fandos will also detail five new commissioned projects that were made in collaboration with researchers from the University of Texas at Austin’s Planet Texas 2050 network.
