Hundred Points: Contemporary Graphic Design from Austin, São Paulo, Cairo, and Helsinki

Curated by Lope Gutiérrez‑Ruiz
Presented in collaboration with Fusebox Festival and In‑House International
Hundred Points brings together 46 projects by sixteen international designers and studios from global design centers to explore how geography, history, and community inform visual and material culture production. The exhibition demonstrates how technological advancements and cultural exchange have shaped conceptual approaches to design, highlighting work that infuses or challenges universal design languages with culturally specific references and motifs.
The exhibition highlights how designers have become the epitome of the highly skilled, multi-hyphenate creative, crafting experiences and identities for brands, individuals, and subcultures using constantly evolving communication tools and media. Design projects on view include film, photography, books and magazines, signage, posters, experimental typography, and products ranging from architectural installations and furniture to pizza boxes and liquor bottles. By emphasizing the physical, tactile output of design and offering behind-the-scenes examples, Hundred Points unveils the design process that culminates in groundbreaking experiences across these various forms.
Hundred Points features a curated design library filled with hard-to-find materials and publications from the four cities, along with an interactive projection room where visitors can explore responses to questions posed to the featured designers. The exhibition is accompanied by a series of public programs, talks, and both on- and off-site events organized by the VAC, Fusebox, In-House International, and exhibition partners.
