Noire Presents: Eras of Elegance Magazine Release Party

Eras of Elegance is aimed at capturing both the present state and the legacy of Black UT. This magazine is a collaborative effort in which we capture the various aspects of our community: style, culture, interpersonal relationships, student groups and organizations, and overall presence and impact at UT Austin.

Our overarching theme is sophistication, and the ways in which Black people have defined elegance and distinction through style. The magazine captures sophistication from the mid-to-late 20th century into the 21st, moving from classic, black-and-white, Old Hollywood style to colorful, timeless patterns and bold silhouettes.

Noire is an organization at The University of Texas at Austin that helps Black creatives build their personal brands through networking, collaborative projects, and professional development opportunities. We aim to foster a strong creative network and circulate wealth within the community. Through vibrant events, we aim to create spaces where Black students can thrive creatively, academically, and socially, cultivating a supportive community that fosters Black artistry, expression, cultural celebration, and collaborative innovation.
