What happens when romanticism meets the absurd?
Artist Katherine Vaughn explores the cult of Enya through a bouffon-style performance that oscillates between earnest longing and sharp critique. Using the language of protest and panhandling, Vaughn challenges the audience to reject the status quo and see the world through a different lens.
Katherine Vaughn is a Texas-based dancer and performance artist from Cleveland, Ohio. Their performance practice involves site-related movement, embodied presence, vulnerability, and collaborative improvisation. Katherine has exhibited and performed in Texas, Mexico, Ohio, and Europe. They were an artist-in-resident in the SOMA summer program in Mexico City in 2025. Katherine is a co-founder of the Austin-based art space Shedshows. Katherine graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with an MFA in 2025.
