Step Right In

September 27 – October 26, 2013

Redefining the typical notion of collage as cut-up-paper-on-paper, the exhibition Step Right In brings together the diverse work of contemporary artists who refigure the relationships among their artwork, their perception, and their experience, while asking their audience to do the same. The boundary between art and everyday life is blurred as works on paper, sculpture, and even the viewer’s own physical actions become integral components of the overall collaged environment. Step Right In features works by artists Wangechi Mutu, David Wojnarowicz, Erwin Wurm, Carolee Schneeman, Romare Bearden, Matthew Buckingham, Julie Henson, Emily Roysdon, and Bruce High Quality Foundation, among others.

Curated by Ariel Evans.

Step Right In is presented in collaboration with the Department of Art and Art History.
