Join curators Josiah Brown, Amalya Graham, and Eric Petty for a curatorial tour of Towards Détournement. To start the tour, Dr. Douglas Cushing, Lecturer in Art History at the UT Austin, will provide a brief history of aesthetic revolt in the 19th and 20th centuries, placing Guy Debord and the Situationist International’s use of détournement in a longer art historical context that extends from Romanticism through Surrealism.
