Ways of Seeing Screening at We Luv Video

Join the Visual Arts Center and We Luv Video for a free screening of John Berger’s 1972 television series Ways of Seeing. In the beloved four-part series made for public broadcast, Berger invites people to join him in the act of looking at and thinking about art. He looks closely at oil paintings, portraits of women, and advertisements to clarify the arrangements of power, class, gender, and race behind works of art, and asks viewers to relate these arrangements to their own lives. The series was produced by Mike Dibb and adapted into a book of the same name.
The screening is free but capacity is limited to 30 people. Please arrive early; seats are not guaranteed. First come, first seated.
NOTE: This event is now at capacity. RSVPs are no longer being accepted.
