Alyssa LeLeux is receiving a BFA in Visual Art Studies (UTeach Art) from The University of Texas at Austin. She creates oil paintings, wood sculptures, and prints using various techniques (primarily serigraphy). During her time at UT, she has developed a passion for projects geared toward community engagement, participation, art therapy, and the theme of memory. Over the summer in 2017 and 2018, Alyssa gained professional experience in art education while working as a Family and Community Intern and Studio Art Intern at the Blanton Museum of Art. The Blanton recently adopted LeLeux’s community art project, Mindful Weaving, into its public programming.

LeLeux hopes to attend graduate school to study Art Education with a focus on museum and community programs. In the future, she wishes to pursue work creating free family and community programs for the public at an art museum.
