Center Space Project: 2024–2025 Call for Proposals

Center Space Project invites undergraduate and graduate students of all disciplines at The University of Texas at Austin to submit an exhibition proposal for a solo or group exhibition featuring their own work or the work of others. We welcome proposals from both novice and experienced curators in any and all media, including works on paper, sculpture, painting, digital media, and performance.

Previous Center Space Project exhibitions can be viewed in the Exhibition Archive.

Two student-curated exhibitions will be selected for the VAC's 2024–2025 exhibition season: one for Fall 2024 and one for Spring 2025.

The selection committee consists of VAC staff and CSP student members. Selected curators will be assisted by both VAC staff and CSP student officers throughout the process of developing and installing their exhibition. Curators are expected to produce at least one public program in conjunction with their exhibition; programming should factor into the development of the exhibition and its narrative. While we welcome ambitious proposals, we encourage you to be as thorough as possible in your proposal in order to demonstrate that you have thought through the steps involved in realizing each aspect of your project (e.g. fundraising, production of new work, equipment needs, artwork shipment, artist travel, etc.).

Please note that the exhibition will receive a budget of $1500 from the VAC. Expenses that exceed the $1500 budget must be fundraised by the project curator(s).

How to Submit a Proposal

The deadline to submit exhibition proposals is March 31, 2024. No late submissions will be accepted.
